The first guitar was based on the KISS principle (keep it simple stupid), modeled on the classic Les Paul Junior.
The body was a laminate of English Yew and American Cherry, with inlays in Satinwood.
The neck was a three piece Cherry, Yew, Cherry lamination.
The pickup was a vintage voiced Humbucker, with a simple tone and volume control.
The tuners were Gotoh, which I soon realised were some of the best out there and the bridge was a wraparound by Wilkinson, which worked extremely well.
The guitar was finished with a natural oil finish which I think looks so much better than a plastic finish, especially when you have quality woods to work with.
The overall result exceeded my expectations and fueled by comments of friends and other guitarists (far better than me), I was encouraged to make more.
The journey had begun.
